Please Print This Page as Your Record of Course Schedule & Meeting/Hotel Information

Who Should Attend:

Policymakers, board members, city councils, general managers, and power supply professionals.

Overview:

Resource adequacy for Pacific Northwest utilities will become a critical issue as the regions load/resource balance tightens and BPA looks to tiered rates or a FBS resource allocation.

The first step in evaluating a utility's resource adequacy is to do an Integrated Resource Plan (IRP).  An IRP systematically identifies all possible demand and supply-side resources, then compares each resource's relative attributes and ranks the various resource options based upon standard utility metrics.

Learning Objectives:

- Clear identification of all demand-side and supply-side resources available to Pacific Northwest utilities
- Overview of how IRP projects are typically performed and what valuable planning outputs are available from an IRP
- Understanding of the various engineering, financial and environmental attributes that are considered in IRP's
- Assistance in how to present IRP results to the utility's key stakeholders

Check-in begins at 8 a.m. with the class starting at 8:30 a.m. both days. Lunch, morning and afternoon breaks are included.
